Suncor Energy Center

(Contract Documents)

The Suncor Energy Center is a thoughtful design that integrates Indigenous cultural elements and nature. The center's design emphasizes local landmarks, including the Bow and Elbow Rivers, while honoring Indigenous traditions and languages. The Welcome Wall features a historical map with key locations, and the Gathering Circle within the center is a dedicated space for community events, performances, and storytelling. Immersive experiences like terrace gardens connect visitors to nature and provide symbolic references to local Indigenous landmarks, such as Writing on Stone Provincial Park. The floor design in the Gathering Circle highlights Indigenous languages and territorial boundaries.
