Moodie House is a custom residence located in the foothills landscape of Priddis, Alberta. Designed by Wanda Dalla Costa, the home balances contemporary residential comfort with a durable envelope suited to its rural setting and seasonal climate. The 2,400 sq. ft. residence is organized over two storeys plus a basement, with open living spaces, generous interior volumes, and strong visual connections between the main gathering areas.
The design uses insulated concrete form walls with a stone, wood, and stucco exterior palette, giving the house both thermal performance and a grounded material presence. Large windows, warm interior finishes, and a central living space create a sense of openness and everyday gathering, while the exterior massing responds to the site with a sheltered deck, garage, and strong horizontal rooflines. Designed to a LEED Silver standard, the project reflects an early commitment to higher-performance residential design through envelope efficiency, durable materials, and thoughtful spatial planning.
